Clear, accurate drawings councils can work with
A planning officer only has your drawings to go on. If they are vague, inaccurate or missing a view, the application gets held up at validation or refused. We produce clean, properly scaled CAD drawings that show exactly what exists now and exactly what you are proposing, so there is nothing left for anyone to guess.
- Measured surveys of the existing building
- Existing and proposed floor plans
- Existing and proposed elevations
- Roof plans and sections
- Location plans and block plans
- Street scenes and site layouts where needed
We can also draw plans for you to submit yourself, or for your architect, planning consultant or builder to use. Everything is drawn in CAD to a recognised standard, and we can supply PDF and DWG files so other professionals can work from them. If you already have an approved scheme and want to make changes, we can prepare drawings for a non-material or minor material amendment.
Measured survey
We measure the building and site so the drawings are based on accurate information.
Draft drawings
You get draft plans and elevations to comment on before anything is finalised.
Final set issued
We issue the final drawings in PDF and DWG, ready to submit.
Frequently asked questions
Common questions about our planning drawing service.
It depends on the type of application, but most householder applications need a location plan, block plan, and existing and proposed floor plans and elevations. We check your council’s validation list so nothing is missed.
Yes. The drawings are yours once the job is paid for, and we can supply them in whatever format your builder or engineer needs.
For accurate drawings, yes, we normally carry out a measured survey. For some remote projects we can work from existing drawings or measurements you provide, and we will tell you if that is realistic.
It varies with the size of the job, but for a typical house extension you can expect drafts within a couple of weeks of the survey. We will give you a timescale when we quote.
